Goin' Bald for Bucks

Join thousands of participants from across Western New York as we clip, snip and shave our way closer to cancer cures with the 7th Annual Goin' Bald for Bucks!

Last year alone, Goin’ Bald for Bucks raised $150,000. In total, this event has raised over $400,000 for cancer research and patient care at Roswell Park Cancer Institute – America’s first cancer center, and one of the National Cancer Institute’s premier comprehensive cancer centers located right here in our hometown!

Organize your own Goin Bald for Bucks event at your school, at a date and time convenient to you. Students/participants raise pledges and then shave or cut 10" of hair. If you clip 10" or more you may donate the hair to Locks for Love at the event.

Businesses and organizations can also participate; you do not have to be a student!

Area schools have already signed up:

  • Lake Shore High School (Wednesday, March 13)
  • Veronica Connor Middle School (Wednesday, March 26)
  • North Collins Central (Wednesday, March 26)
  • Springville Griffith High School ( Tuesday, April 1)
  • Hamburg High School (Wednesday, March 19)
  • Clarence High School (April 4)
  • Orchard Park High School (April 24)
  • Amherst High School (June 5)
  • Harvey Austin Middle School ( Date TBD)

Kiss 98.5 was at the Lakeshore kick off ceremony (check out the pictures) on Thursday, March 13th. Lakeshore's ceremony is the biggest school event and the host school for the entire campaign. Goin' Bald for Bucks founder, Anthony George, is a teacher there. We'll also be at Clarence High School at 7am Friday, April 4th with DJ Anthony.

For more information on how your school or business can be involved with Goin' Bald for Bucks, log on to www.goinbaldforbucks.org or call Roswell Park at (716) 845-8788.
